The Princess and the Frog (2009), Disney’s last fully hand drawn animated feature film since Brother Bear in 2003 (not counting Enchanted which came out in ‘07, but was mostly live action). This film was nominated for 3 Oscars (including Best Original Song). Charlotte (Tiana’s childhood friend) reminds me of Blanche from “Golden Girls”. It’s a great movie, with a really REAL message to little girls, that you actually have to work in life to get what you want, wishing on stars just doesn’t cut it. Also it takes place in New Orleans, one of my favorite cities. And let me just say that it looks exactly the same as in the movie!

The unique Architecture of schools in the New Orleans area in the 1950. The school building is raised off the ground. This protected the schools from flooding in various rain storms and even Hurricane Katrina. The school on the top currently is in danger of being torn down. This school design won many awards for innovations in Architecture. The school pictured on the bottom was demolished earlier this century.
